The Seismic resistant cabinet door push latch has a locking mechanism that will not allow the cabinet door to open unless the mechanism is triggered by a push action.
Upper or lower cabinets containing heavy items or glassware should receive "positive locking" cabinet latches in order to prevent disaster in an earthquake. The "push" latch operates by simply pushing the door "in", which releases the latch.
Each latch consists of two pieces: a plunger and receiver as pictured below.
These latches have proven to be the most user friendly since they do not require a series of motions like child safety latches. Available in black, brown, or white. Installation will result in a 1/8th - 3/16th inch gap between door and cabinet to be able to activate mechanism. Please specify below.
